Davis Acupuncture: room for your questions

You should be able to explain what is bothering you, ask why a treatment is being suggested and say if it is not right for you. That is the starting point at Davis Acupuncture, from back and neck concerns to the broader questions people bring about pain, movement and wellbeing.

Rory provides care at both locations. Mile End South is the established independent clinic in western Adelaide; at Back In Motion Valley View, acupuncture is available alongside physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Registered Acupuncturist Rory Davis

Rory has practised acupuncture since 2009 in private practice and integrated clinical settings. His work includes back and neck concerns, movement, headache and migraine, chronic pain and women's health, as well as symptoms that overlap with stress and sleep. The discussion is about your situation, not treating a condition label alone.

Listening first, then deciding together

An appointment starts with what has brought you in, what you have already tried and what you want to do more comfortably. Rory takes time to understand those details before discussing whether acupuncture has a useful role alongside your existing care.

Traditional acupuncture knowledge and contemporary, evidence-aware reasoning inform the conversation. You should understand the options, the uncertainty and how any response will be reviewed. Treatment can change, pause or finish when it is not useful.

With your consent, communication with your GP, physiotherapist or other practitioner can help coordinate care. Medical assessment, rehabilitation and prescribed treatment remain important when needed.

How Rory assesses and reviews care

Professional background and teaching

Rory's experience includes previous acupuncture teaching and student clinical supervision at Endeavour College of Natural Health. Explaining a clinical choice, listening to questions and revisiting assumptions are habits he brings from teaching into patient care.

His postgraduate education includes a Master of Health Science (Acupuncture), with Distinction, from Western Sydney University, and study in higher education learning and teaching.

Rory has also co-authored a published acupuncture case study. A case report is part of his professional background, not evidence that another patient can expect the same outcome.

Study experiences in China

Several study visits to China gave Rory opportunities to observe acupuncture and Chinese medicine in clinical and hospital settings. Seeing care delivered in different settings has been part of his ongoing learning.

These visits sit alongside Rory's formal education and clinical experience. His Australian qualifications and professional registration are listed below.

Qi Gong and Tai Chi teaching

Rory has a long-standing involvement in Qi Gong and Tai Chi instruction. He enjoys helping people learn a practice at a manageable pace, whether in a group or through individual teaching.

Movement, attention and breathing can be explored without needing to perform an ideal shape. Suitability, comfort and any existing rehabilitation advice still matter.

Rory is a proud father of two. Away from work, he enjoys gardening, keeping chickens, music and sport.
